Day 59 Walla Walla Wonder

We woke up outside the Telander home on Bryant Street. We had pulled in the evening before after a beautiful long drive along highway 12, as well as a hike up into the hills to soak in yet more hot springs. Check out pictures below to see the hot waterfall and the crystal clear river we saw!

Ben's best friend from high school, Todd, lives here in Walla Walla with his family. Ben was super excited to see him after 25 years. I was a little concerned that having a full day in Walla Walla would be boring and tedious.

We all had woken up relaxed. Even though we weren't at a Rv park somehow we had managed to get plugged in. Which made sleeping easy. Todd and his wife Kirsten were both really nice. Some fun was planned. First we went to the Y, which was one of the nicer Y's we had seen, definitely better then the Y at home. We worked out together and then played racquetball. I hadn't played racquetball in years so I had basically forgotten everything about it.

Then we had a amazing lunch at Graze, a downtown sandwich shop. After that we went to the theater to take pics of the Rv in front of the sign. While hanging flyers around town we discovered the theater had already hung some as well, which was a experience we hadn't really had before.

Todd is a great painter and has his own gallery downtown. He and his wife had great ideas on where to hang flyers. Kirsten even had all kinds of plans on how to promote our movie for the Sunday show.

Then Todd took us to the local community pool where his son life guarded. Two great water slides, two diving boards, a lily pad run where you try to run across the water and a slack line across the pool. All this for $5/person. If you are ever in Walla Walla check this place out.

For dinner we had Tacos at Todd and Kirsten's house. Lots of talking around a single candle. As time ticked by the countdown on my phone got closer and closer to going off, which made me anticipate getting home more and more. The day had definitely been better than I expected, but that didn't change how much I wanted to see our guinea pigs at home. Over dinner we decided to head straight home the next day. I was so excited.
