I woke up with an extreme need for a shower. That was my days priority. I wasn't sure if we would be able to find a YMCA or workout center that would let me shower. My worst case scenario was to shower in the Rv. I didn't really want to do this. Before leaving Prescott Kim had to do some work. Ben, Daniel and I headed into the Walmart that we had been parking at. We bought Velcro tabs to hang up sheets to darken windows, sharpies to sign t-shirts and posters, super glue to keep the window adjuster connected. Once Kim was finished working we headed off to Tucson. The drive was long, but the roads were straight. Even though the AC was on high the back of the RV was not cooling down. Earlier that morning Ben and Daniel had created new merch.
In the Movie there is a graphic novel theme to tell the backstory of our characters. So with inspiration from one of the audience viewers in San Francisco, Ben and Daniel had copied out some of the comic book 'pages' to sell to any audience members who wanted them.
On the road to Tucson we saw quite a bit of different Arizona Dessert plants. We saw tons of Giant Saguaro Cactus. Whole hills covered in them. Once we got to Tucson we immediately checked to see if they had a Family YMCA. They did! I was so exited to be able to wash my hair and start feeling clean again. Once we got to The Y, we worked out for about an hour. After I felt like I had earned my shower I got my stuff together and took a nice long hot shower.
Just in the walk back to car my hair had almost completely dried. We all headed to the cinema the movie was playing at. We advertised with our wrapped RV's right outside the theater for a few hours, before and during the screening. When we went back into the theater for the Q and A, almost immediately after the move ended we were blasted by questions. The crowd had loved the movie. They had great questions, and lots of them. Next up on the Phoenix, Oregon National Movie Tour is the Guild Cinema in Albuquerque, New Mexico. See you there!
