Day 24, Triple Choclate

Santa Fe, New Mexico I was woken up at 7:30 by the sound of the AC turning off. We had been running it most of the night. Before setting out the night before we had booked a RV park, that way we didn't have to run the generator to run the AC. I tried to fall back asleep but with the early morning sunlight shining through all the windows it was hopeless. So I hung around in my bed for a little while longer, only to get up when I heard there was wild bunnies running around in the grass. After I got outside I immediately started to get hot again, I knew that until we got farther north we were going to be baking.

We had a long drive ahead of us, so Ben rallied for an early start, and after some convincing we headed off towards Albuquerque. We drove for about five hours, past desserts, dust devils, one of the little dust swirls hit the car straight up in the windshield. Making Kim gasp, Ben later said that it was less dust and more branches and twigs. I have to say that was the most exiting parts of the drive. We arrived in Albuquerque right after the first of three showings ended. We missed the Q and A for that one but we were early enough to set up our T-shirts and posters before the next showing.(You can purchase these posters by finding the link to our Facebook page (Phoenix, Oregon Movie)) In the 30 minutes before the movie played again people started filing in, the theater was close to full. While the movie was playing for the second time my family and I went and celebrated Daniels amazing SAT scores. his score was 1410, making him fully qualify for the scholarship he was looking to get. We went out to eat at a restaurant across the street.

The food was authentic and delicious. Even though Daniel wasn't super hungry he still ate just because it was after all his celebratory meal. After our meal we decided to walk down the street we were parked on just to see what there was to see. Just a block away from the theater there was a chocolate shop. Ben and I both noticed it about the same time, it was an irresistible urge, we all crossed the street and entered the chocolaty smelling business. Everything was home made, made from scratch by the workers at the chocolate shop. We bought a few different things and split them in between the 4 of us. After eating every little crumb we headed back to the theater to make sure we were on time for our Q and A. When we tried to open the door we were surprised to find that it was locked.

As we waited outside the minutes ticked by, to the point where we were pretty sure the movie had ended. We were all kind of confused why we weren't able to enter the theater that our movie was playing at. Turns out they were waiting till the movie was over to unlock the door. So it all worked out fine. We were inside the screening room right when the credits were rolling. The whole crowd enjoyed the movie, they asked some good questions and within 30 minutes we were cut off by another crowd of people entering the theater to see the third and final screening for the night. The theater managers told us it was one of the best turnouts they'd seen in a while. That was pretty fun to hear. As the movie played for the third time most of the group headed across the street to the Flying Star where we got some snacks and talked about the movie. I got another dessert, this time a price of cake instead of fudge or chocolate dipped fudge.

The third screening eventually came to an end, and we once again entered the screening room to answer the audiences questions. Next up on the Phoenix, Oregon Movie Tour is Santa Fe, New Mexico, the movie is playing at the Jean Cocteau Cinema at 6:30. See you there!
