Waking up in a normal bed was like a dream come true. I wasn't woken up by sounds of the Rv, I was actually woken up by the sound of a cat scurrying in through the door. I was super thankful to be in a house, I had become accustomed to the Rv, the fact that all the rooms besides the bathroom were all just one room. So being in a house and seeing a staircase or multiple other doors was kind of odd. Our Rv was just parked on the street outside. None of us had slept in there last night, Ben and Kim had one of the daughter's rooms, and I had the other, Daniel took a hit for the team and slept on the large, very comfortable, couch. Kathleen (Kim's friend from college) had been an amazing host for us. She was so kind and gracious. Shout out to her and her family!
We left at about the same time she had to go to work. Before we left we said goodbye to their dogs, as well as grab the fruit they had so kindly bought for us. There was a water park just south of town that Flannery and I were planning to go to. The other Rv had stayed at a Rv park near the Pirates Cove water park, so they got discounts on tickets. There were many different slides, one was closed but the rest were open. We first rode on a 6th lane race slide. Then we rode on the enclosed multi color tube slide, when we were sliding down we got a little bit to much momentum on a turn and our tube nearly flipped over, multiple times. We floated down the Alligator River, and then rode a bunch of slides again. We had rode on every one except for a small skinny drop off slide. I was planning to ride on it. To get to the top of all the slides you had to climb a long staircase, on the way up I began watching the kids slide down the drop off slide.
The first thing I noticed was that no kids older then 8 were going down the slide, and as I watched one of the kids slide down, I noticed when they hit the water at the bottom they also hit the walls of the slide, this particular kid banged his head as well, he was okay but it made me realize maybe it wasn't the best idea ever to go down the slide. So instead we went back down the staircase and got in line for the dunk tank they had recently set up. When I sat on the plank I expected the kid that was throwing the ball to not hit the button first try. I was quite wrong, the ball hit the button first try and I was dropped into the water. Flannery got on the plank next, the kid throwing the ball also hit the button first try for her as well.
Anne picked Flannery, Gary, and I up just a few minutes later and took us all over to the Whole Foods in town. The rest of my family met up with us there, we did some shopping and ate from their salad bar and then headed back to the Rv's to leave. We had to drive North a couple of hours up to the Texoma Lake Rv Resort. The Rv resort was right next to Lake Texoma. I was exited to swim in the lake and was hoping it would be cold. What I didn't think about was the fact that the lake had been baking in the sun for the whole day, so when I stepped my foot in the water I was shocked to how lukewarm it was. I still waded out a little bit, across part of the lake a little bit was a island. I had a goal to get out to the island because I saw a big metal floating contraption by it. I swam out with Ben, and as we got farther out the water became colder, our feet would feel the cold water below and then my waist and above felt the warm water. It took a little while to make it across the lake. I didn't realize the contraption was a rope swing until Ben said it was.
We explored around the rope swing for a little bit, and realized there was 2 different ropes keeping it at the island. We worked with ropes and got them untied from the bush and tree they were attached to. Daniel and Kim were now almost to the island as well, Flannery and Annie not far behind them. We pushed out the rope swing a little bit and then Ben swung out first. I swung next, followed by Daniel and Kim. It was super fun and the water was warm, and also cold, weirdly enough. Flannery and Annie both swung as well. We had a ton of fun on the swing and once we were all tired we began the swim back. It was 8 by the time we were at the Rv. Kim and I began to make dinner while Daniel and Ben played volleyball with Annie and Flannery. I joined them after a little bit and then Luis came out and evened out the teams. Our game was fun, that is until it became too dark to see the ball. At that point I wen't back into the Rv followed by my family and we all sat around the table and ate dinner. It was one of the best days/afternoons we'd had.
