I woke up to my alarm. We planned to leave at 8 and I wanted to shower by then. So I packed up my shower essentials and took a shower. By the time I got back everyone was awake and getting ready to leave. We were traveling from New Orleans to Atlanta. 6 and a half hours in car, so about 7 or 8 in an Rv. So in other words we were already late. We were going to lose another hour since we were traveling into Eastern Time. We started our driving right when the clock struck 8. We would drive for a few hours then take a break, rotating through the different drivers in the car. We made it to Atlanta at around 5. Walked over to the Whole Foods just a couple blocks away and got a couple snacks to hold us over.
We were in charge of the tickets for the show screening at 7, most people bought there tickets online, the rest just paid at the desk. One of the walk up tickets was a magician, he had a little birdie on his shoulder and a wallet that lit on fire when he opened it up. He showed off his tricks to us for a few minutes, one time he reached behind my ear and pulled out a little toy bunny. It was shocking and funny. At the end of his little show he gave us his business card. The movie was going to end at about 9. So we had a couple hours to kill. Ben and Daniel headed back up to the Whole Foods to stock the fridge while Kim and I hung back at the Rv and talked about what Rv parks we were going to stay at tonight. The Q and A was going to be cut a little short because of how late the movie started, but still plenty of time. The theater had been nice enough to have their mixologist create some new drinks that matched up with some of the themes of the movie. They named the drinks "Frame Ten" and "Alien". The turnout for the screening was good, the Q and A went well even without having Gary the Director there to lead it. Next up on the Phoenix, Oregon Movie is The C3 Cinema in Charlotte, NC. See you there!
