Portland is not Portland without the coffee shops on every block. Tara and Kim are currently sitting at one of the small tables in the Case Study coffee shop across the way from the library. With inspiration flowing, the warm smell of coffee, tea, cookies, muffins, and bagels in the air, it was easy for the two Pipers to easily work on their movie projects as they listened to the upbeat music playing above them. They heard the neighboring table ranting to one another about their problems. Something about honeymoons, and whipped cream. The metro passed by once, then twice, and then again. Something about the murmurs and rumbling of the big city was relaxing.
Inside the coffee shop it was easy to forget about the world outside the doors, but not too easy. Anyways as the day continued the Pipers decided to head to the 24 hour fitness gym. On the way there they passed by a rally to spread awareness about the ‘climate emergency’ even the police weren't able to stop them, not like they were really trying but… what does that matter? Once at the gym, they did a full round of working out including weights and running. Dinner was next, Daniel and Tara decided to skip the home RV meal and head out to a state of the art Indian food truck. As they brought the food back the few blocks to the RV the scent of their curries rose through the plastic bags and filled their noses making them more hungry than ever. Surprisingly they held themselves back from tearing through the plastic into the delicious food.
Even though the walk back to the RV was only a few minutes, they still passed by some of the highest skyscrapers in Portland. If you looked at the top of them it was a little bit mesmerizing. Like you were floating in a circle. In Tara’s perspective Klamath Falls was a pretty isolated town, which was true compared to a town like Portland. The highest building by far in Klamath was the Ross Ragland Theater and compared to these skyscrapers it was a dwarf building.
7:00 rolled around and the movie Phoenix, Oregon began to show. A good sized group showed up, over 50 people. The Whitsell Auditorium’s screen according to Ben was the nicest screen so far on the tour. Not to get ahead of myself but tomorrow morning the Pipers will once again hit the streets of Portland. For their next stop is the town of Mcminnville. The Movie screens in none other than the Mcminnville Cinema. See you there!
