A relaxing morning took an abrupt stop when Ben tried to start the car to leave and the lights on the dash didn't light up. When he turned the key to start the car the Pipers stood behind him in anticipation. The car didn't speak or make any sounds. Their battery was dead. Little did they know but last night there had been a clicking sound, which had signified the low and draining battery. When Tara had heard the clicking she had figured it was unrelated to the RV’s health and was just a spoon or something rocking back and forth on the counter. Since it only actually clicked when Daniel was moving around in his bed. Now they new, if the clicking was to ever start again they would immediately unplug everything and start the car.
Kim was giving herself a pat on the back for taking the previous owners advice and getting AAA. She called the company and the receiver of her call told her they would have someone come jump start their RV in 35 minutes. The Pipers hung around the RV burning time until the white AAA pickup truck pulled into their lot. Seconds later the battery was refueled enough to start up the vehicle. It took loss to some hubcap screws, brushing into the pee filled side bank, and some more yelling to pull out of lot 51. The Pipers were successfully on the freeway out of Portland and heading toward Micminville.
Laundromats and shopping was on the list for the afternoon. As Kim and Tara washed dried and folded the families clothing, Ben and Daniel shopped at two different stores to pack the fridge with groceries. Once the Pipers had dealt with their personal needs they headed back to the theater to promote Phoenix, Oregon in the the Micminville theater parking lot.
As 7:00 rolled around the corner the movie Phoenix, Oregon came with it. A small crowd did show up, and they enjoyed the movie. Hopefully not as much as tomorrows crowd, their movie already had pulled in over 50 pre-booked tickets. Go Salem! Anyways tomorrow morning the Pipers would head out of Micminville and to Salem. See you there!
Hey, Tara. What a day! And you didn't even mention the great swimming hole you found.
